Two Middle East Airlines flights arrived late Monday, bringing home more than 250 Lebanese citizens DUBAI: The Lebanese government has said it will consider another round of repatriation flights for its nationals stranded abroad because of travel restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic. “There will be an assessment to determine whether or not a second round to evacuate the Lebanese from abroad will be implemented,” Assem Araji, head of the Parliamentary Health Committee, said during a tour of the Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut. “The infected cases that appeared on the two planes coming from Rome and Paris were less than what the National Corona Committee expected, so I believe that there is a possibility to renew the process of transporting Lebanese from abroad and opening Beirut airport,” Araji said. “This is what I hope for because there are many Lebanese students, whether in Georgia or Ukraine and Belarus, who are appealing to the government to ensure their return due to their difficult situation there.” Two Middle East Airlines flights arrived late Monday at the Rafic Hariri airport, bringing home 126 Lebanese citizens from Jeddah and 131 Lebanese passengers from France.
