ABU DHABI — Five more people have died from coronavirus in the United Arab Emirates in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of fatalities from the virus in the country to 33, state the country’s Ministry of Health and Prevention said on Wednesday in a statement carried by state media WAM. The ministry also reported 432 new cases and 101 more recoveries, raising the total number of infections and recoveries in the country to 5,365 and 1,034 respectively. As part of the efforts to conduct extensive testing to identify and isolate cases as early as possible, more than 767,000 coronavirus tests have been performed in the country so far, the ministry said. Giving details on the reported deaths, the ministry said that three of the victims are from Asia, an Arab nation and a Gulf citizen. The ministry expressed its regret and sincere condolences to the families of the deceased and best wishes for a speedy recovery for all the infected cases. It called on the members of the community to cooperate with health authorities, adhere to the instructions and follow to social distancing rules to ensure the health and safety of all.
