Prince Sultan Bin Salman chairs second Saudi Space Commission meeting

RIYADH — Prince Sultan Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Space Commission (SSC), recently chaired the second meeting of the Board of Directors through an electronic application developed by the commission. At the outset of the meeting, the Board of Directors commended the continuous efforts exerted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia led by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman to combat coronavirus pandemic. During the meeting, the Board of Directors discussed a number of issues related to the Commission and the space sector, approved a number of decisions and reviewed some performance reports. The meeting approved a study for establishing Saudi Space Company. The study will seek to define the company"s goals, investment opportunities, ways of financing, returns on investment and the stages of the company’s work and structure. It also gave a nod to a draft regulation of space system project which is prepared by the SSC in collaboration with a number of the governmental relevant sectors. Both the decisions have been submitted to the government for approval. — SPA
