JEDDAH — All Saudi returnees from abroad must sign an undertaking to remain in quarantine for one week in hotels and for 7 days at home, as a precautionary measure to ensure they are not infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), Okaz has learned. These measures are in line with the mechanisms announced by the Ministry of Health to host the Saudi returnees during the quarantine period. The undertaking, a copy of which Okaz has gone through, stresses placing citizens returning to the Kingdom from abroad in the hotels allocated as quarantines. They will be checked up and tested once only. If the case is tested negative, then the person leaves for home after signing undertakings that he will not socialize with others, implement the directives issued by the official authorities, and keep away from crowds or socializing with family members until the specified period ends. The returnee must contact the Ministry of Health if coronavirus symptoms appear, visit the nearest health facility or dial 937. On leaving the quarantine at the hotel, the returnee must pledge in writing that he will remain in self-quarantine for 7 days at home. He will be monitored continuously via the “Titamman” app and will need to visit the heath facility when he is called via the mobile number registered in the undertaking. Pertinent employees will follow up on his condition until the period for self-quarantine at home is over, following that the person will be checked up and tested to ensure that he can pursue his life normally.
