Health Minister: Partial lifting of curfew doesn't mean danger is over

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia"s Minister of Health Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah has said that the partial lifting of the curfew does not mean the danger of COVID-19 is over as the threat still looms large. In a televised address here on Monday, the minister confirmed that coronavirus is still among us in all the regions of the Kingdom as Saudi Arabia recorded the highest number of daily cases. "The Committee for following up the latest developments on coronavirus is keeping a close eye on all the indicators related to the spread of the pandemic and based on that it makes the necessary recommendations to ensure the safety of the citizens and expatriates," the minister said. The minister thanked his colleagues, the health heroes who are working sincerely and tirelessly. The minister urged all to act responsibly and wear face masks outside homes for protection and to prevent the spread of infection among people. Al-Rabiah expressed his thanks to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman for their great support in protecting the health of the citizens and expatriates. Al-Rabiah pointed out that 2,000 rounds of mass coronavirus screenings have been conducted in targeted districts. "It has contributed to determining and knowing the transmission cycles, detecting the locations of many cases, treating them and guaranteeing that the infection does not spread widely in different regions," the minister said.
