DUBAI: Parisian luxury label Saint Laurent has decided to pull out from the Paris Fashion Week schedule this season. According to an official press statement released by the brand on Monday, Saint Laurent’s decision to depart from the Paris fashion week calendar is an effort to adapt to the ongoing coronavirus crisis. “Conscious of the current circumstance and its waves of radical change, Saint Laurent has decided to take control of its pace and reshape its schedule,” revealed the brand in the statement. “Now more than ever, the brand will lead its own rhythm, legitimating the value of time and connecting with people globally by getting closer to them in their own space and lives.” Instead of presenting its collections in any of the pre-set schedules of 2020, the brand will showcase its offerings at its own pace and “launch its collections following a plan conceived with an up-to-date perspective, driven by creativity.” Paris Fashion Week is scheduled for September. This announcement follows the cancelation of Paris’ men’s and haute couture fashion weeks, which were slated for June and July, as well as the adjustment for London fashion week, scheduled for September.
