DUBAI: For the first time in its 72-year history, the Met Gala is postponed indefinitely due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. This year’s edition was set to be held around the “About Time: Fashion and Duration” theme and as the Metropolitan Museum of Art is celebrating its 150-year anniversary. However, that didn’t stop stars from celebrating. In honor of the first Monday in May, a number of celebrities took to their social media platforms to reminisce about past Met Gala ceremonies by sharing throwback pictures of their most memorable red carpet looks and favorite memories. Moroccan-Egyptian-Dutch model Imaan Hammam posted a series of behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram from last year’s “Camp: Notes on Fashion” themed gala, which showed her getting fitted with the man behind her look, Peter Dundas. “T “This time last year. Getting camp with @peter_dundas and @dundasworld for the #MetGala,” she captioned the post. “Things are a little different this year... I’m definitely home in sweats right now. But loved this night and THIS DRESS (sic).” But Hammam didn’t stop there. She also took to the social media platform to post a series of images from the 2018 Met Gala: “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.” “Another Met Ball moment I loved so much... #HeavenlyBodies with @zacposen. So much goes into a night and a dress like this and I’m grateful to have been part of it,” Hammam wrote. Other celebrities posted memories from past years Met Gala ceremonies, including Kris Jenner, Naomi Campbell, Jennifer Lopez, Kendall Jenner, Hailey Bieber, Blake Lively and Emily Ratajkowski, among others. Palestinian-Dutch models Gigi and Bella Hadid also took to their Instagram Stories to post throwbacks from past galas.
