ABU DHABI — Citizens, pregnant women, domestic workers, people of determination and expatriates over the age of 60 in the United Arab Emirates will be tested for coronavirus for free, the country’s official news agency reported on Tuesday. The announcement for free testing was made by the Ministry of Health and Prevention, MOHAP and the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority following the directives from Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi as part of the preventive and precautionary measures taken by the UAE to contain the spread of the virus. The health authorities will set the dates for tests and notify the public accordingly, according to the report. The ministry and the NCEMA said in a joint statement that the move is part of the leadership"s keen efforts to provide all support and to take all necessary action to stem the spread of COVID-19 for the safety of the community and the wellbeing of the UAE citizens and residents.
