RIYADH: Saudi Arabia announced nine new deaths from the COVID-19 coronavirus and 2,307 new cases of the disease on Friday. Of the new cases, 444 were recorded in Jeddah, 443 in Makkah, 419 in Riyadh, 152 in Madinah, 148 in Dammam and 128 in Al-Hafof. Saudi citizens made up for 41 percent of new cases whilst 59 percent were non-Saudi patients. The health ministry also announced 2,818 new recoveries, bringing the number of patients who have recovered in the Kingdom so far to 21,869. More than half a million tests for the virus have been conducted in Saudi Arabia to date, the health ministry said.
