Her family have paid tribute to their “ambitious and passionate” daughter at her funeral, and demanded justice for her killing LONDON: A sixth person has been charged in the UK with the murder of Lebanese-born student Aya Hachem. Ayaz Hussein, 34, of Blackburn, has been charged with Aya’s murder, as well as the attempted murder of a man who police believe was the intended target of the shooting. Hussein will appear in court Monday. He joins Feroz Suleman, 39, Abubakir Satia, 31, Uthman Satia, 28, Judy Chapman, 26, and Kashif Manzoor, 24, who have all already been charged with murder and attempted murder. Aya, 19, was killed when she was shot in the chest from a passing car outside a supermarket in Blackburn. Detective Superintendent Andy Cribbin said the police investigation had “moved at a fast pace” but was “far from over.” “Our resolve and determination to get to the bottom of what happened and who was responsible for Aya’s needless and senseless death remains as strong as ever,” he said. The Lebanese-born teenager, who was a second-year law student at the University of Salford, was buried in the Lebanese town of Qlaileh on Saturday. Her parents paid tribute to their “ambitious and passionate” daughter at the funeral. Aya’s father, Ismail Hachem, told Arab News: “I saw in Aya the embodiment of my dreams and wishes.” Her mother said: “We thought that living abroad would protect our children. Now all I ask for is justice.”
