Dubai Chamber, DAFZA collaborate to connect digital services

DUBAI — Dubai’s ease of doing business is expected to improve further following Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s announcement that it is cooperating with Dubai Airport Freezone Authority (DAFZA) to connect the two organizations’ digital services. Under the terms of the new partnership, companies can register as Dubai Chamber members, or renew their existing membership, through DAFZA’s digital platform. The strategic move aims to enhance and expand digital services available to Dubai Chamber member companies and the wider business community in Dubai amid heightened demand due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At the same time, the collaboration supports the Chamber’s efforts to boost the emirate’s attractiveness as a global business hub. The announcement comes after a meeting held by the two entities, which was attended by Hamad Buamim, president and CEO of Dubai Chamber and Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, director general of DAFZA, and other officials and directors. During the meeting, representatives from Dubai Chamber and DAFZA discussed existing synergies between the two organizations and prospects for future cooperation, in addition to new ways to best utilize their potential to drive sustainable economic growth in Dubai and ensure business continuity. “Our cooperation with Dubai Airport Freezone Authority is a major step forward in our efforts to advance Dubai’s digital transformation and contribute towards the Dubai Paperless Strategy. “The move strengthens our Smart Chamber approach, which has really resonated with our members as we have seen significant improvements in customer satisfaction due to shifting more of our services online,” said Buamim. “The current situation surrounding COVID-19 has validated our efforts to invest in innovation and digital infrastructure over the years, and we owe our success on this front to our wise leadership and its forward-looking vision for Dubai. “Dubai Chamber remains fully committed to further developing its wide range of digital services in line with the changing needs of Dubai’s maturing business community,” Buamim added. “Our collaboration with Dubai Chamber is an important addition that enhances the advanced digital services provided by Dubai Airport Freezone Authority to international companies that we currently host and to those who are seeking to establish their business in a conducive environment that supports their growth. “The freezone is a pioneer in adopting cutting-edge digital solutions that contribute to providing services to customers, taking into consideration the global orientations of different economic and business sectors. Our cooperation with Dubai Chamber reflects the commitment of DAFZA to continuing on its distinguished digital journey,” said Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni. “Through the cooperation with various entities in the public and private sectors, DAFZA confirms the necessity of integrating service systems to improve and facilitate the experience of customers. “These services focus on the satisfaction of customers and ensures a flexible environment backed with smart technology.
