JEDDAH — Administrative courts in Saudi Arabia have stopped dealing with lawsuits filed in paper and will only entertain e-litigation. The move is part of the ongoing efforts aiming at digital transformation in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 as well as one of the preventive measures to curb the spread of coronavirus. In a decree issued Khalid Al-Yousef, president of the Saudi Court of Grievances and head of the Administrative Judiciary Council, the courts have been asked to stop using paper in lodging suits and memoranda. According to the decree, such lawsuits must be filed online, making full use of services available on the electronic platform. The electronic services are introducing new standards to the judiciary practice, with litigants being able to log online using the Najiz.sa portal, file a case, present their documents, complete the pleading electronically, reply to questions asked by the judicial panel and have the time to review and present their cases in the best possible manner.
