King Salman gets well wishes from several leaders

RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has received calls from the rulers of Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan and Egypt to check on his health, state news agency SPA reported. King Salman was admitted early Monday to King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Riyadh for medical checks due to an inflammation in the gall bladder, according to a statement from the Royal Court. The Saudi King thanked Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber, Bahrain"s King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa and Jordan"s King Abdullah II for their brotherly concern, SPA added. On Saturday, Kuwait’s Emir was himself admitted to a hospital for medical checks, state news agency KUNA reported. The following day, KUNA reported that Sheikh Al-Sabah underwent a successful surgery. King Salman also received a call from Egyptian President Abdul Fattah El-Sisi to check on his health, SPA said. Social media platforms also were abuzz with get well wishes for the King. Saudis and non-Saudis took to Twitter to wish a speedy recovery to King Salman. Prayers poured in from different parts of the world and different hashtags began trending on Twitter. Prince Sattam Al-Saud tweeted: “May Allah save my King and father the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz.” Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan wrote on Twitter: “Heard with concern about the hospitalization of His Majesty King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. The government and people of Pakistan, and I myself, join our Saudi brethren in prayers for His Majesty’s swift recovery, good health, and long life. Ameen.”
