JEDDAH — Kuwait"s Cabinet on Thursday decided to move to the third stage of the plan for a gradual return to normal life on July 28, Arab Times, Kuwaiti English-language daily, reported. In the third phase, government agencies and the private sector will start operating with 50 percent of employees in addition to resuming hotels, resorts, hotel apartments, and taxis with one passenger. The curfew period will be from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. from July 28 onward. Health sources, however, have expressed their apprehension over reopening of tailoring shops and salons with the launch of the third stage on 28, two days before Eid Al-Adha, which may lead to more infections. Meanwhile, Kuwait on Thursday reported 687 new coronavirus cases and four more deaths, raising the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 61,872 and the virus-related deaths to 421, according to the country’s health ministry. The health ministry said in a statement that currently, 9,204 patients are receiving treatment, including 124 in intensive care units. The ministry also announced a total of 727 more patients have completely recovered from the deadly disease, raising the total recoveries in the country to 52,247.
