RIYADH — Minister of Finance and Acting Minister of Economy and Planning Mohammed Al-Jadaan hailed the royal decree to include Saudis registered in delivery applications under the purview of the unemployment insurance scheme (SANED) financial compensation. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has directed the authorities to exempt the income received by Saudi employees from delivery applications from the income stipulated in an earlier decree for which SANED compensation is not entitled. The King also ordered to pay the SANED compensation retroactively to all beneficiaries whose disbursement had been stopped for being part of delivery applications, the Saudi Press Agency reported. The government had earlier announced financial compensation under the unemployment insurance scheme (SANED) in the wake of the measures taken to mitigate the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic situation. Under the scheme, the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) would bear 60 percent of the wages of Saudi employees working in the private sector for a period of three months and this period was extended later. Employers are entitled to apply for the financial compensation for those Saudi workers whose names are registered with GOSI. Al-Jadaan, who is also chairman of the Board of Directors of GOSI, said that the necessary measures would be taken to pay the compensation retroactively to all beneficiaries of this decision with the compensation for the month of September. Meanwhile, GOSI clarified that the retroactive payment of the compensation will be deposited directly into the beneficiary’s account and there is no need for the beneficiaries or their establishment to take any procedures in this regard.
