KUWAIT CITY — Kuwait on Thursday recorded 674 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, taking the total number of confirmed infections to 82,945, according to a statement from the country’s Ministry of Health carried by Kuwait News Agency. The ministry announced one more death from complications caused by COVID-19, raising the total number of virus-related fatalities to 522 so far. According to the Health Ministry"s spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, there are currently 97 patients receiving treatment in intensive care units. The spokesman also said that a total of 4,191 coronavirus tests have been conducted over the past 24 hours, taking the total number of tests done so far in the country to 603,604. Earlier in the day, the health ministry said that 616 more patients have recovered from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of recoveries from the deadly disease to 74,522. Recently, Kuwait has eased coronavirus-related restrictions.
