The management of the Haramain high-speed railway announced on Tuesday that the resumption of train operations has been postponed indefinitely due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. In a statement, it cited the “extraordinary circumstances witnessed by global transportation activities due to the pandemic and keenness on the safety of travelers” for its decision. The railway authorities had in May set September as the date to resume rides. They have taken advantage of the halt in operations to raise capacity to accommodate more travelers.
