ABU DHABI — The United Arab Emirates recorded 612 new coronavirus cases on Friday, taking the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 72,766, the Ministry of Health and Prevention said in a statement carried by state news agency WAM. According to the ministry, the new patients, all of whom are in a stable condition and receiving the necessary care, were identified after it conducted 80,935 additional coronavirus tests among different segments of the society over the past few days. The ministry also noted an additional 490 people have fully recovered from the deadly disease, bringing the total number of recoveries in the UAE to 62,668. The ministry also announced that no death was recorded during the past 24 hours, leaving the UAE’s total number of virus-related fatalities at 387.
