UAE, Bahrain condemn attack on police officers in Tunisia

ABU DHABI — The United Arab Emirates and Bahrain have strongly condemned the terrorist attack that targeted two police officers in Tunisia, killing one and wounding the other. In a statement carried by state news agency WAM on Monday, the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation underscored the country"s utter condemnation of such criminal acts and full rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism aimed at undermining security and stability in contravention of religious and human values and principles. The ministry expressed the UAE"s condolences and solidarity with the victims" families, wishing the injured a speedy recovery. Meanwhile, Bahrain’s Foreign Affairs Ministry expressed in a statement carried by Bahrain News Agency its deep condolences to the family of the deceased officer and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded officer in the heinous criminal act. The ministry affirmed Bahrain’s solidarity with Tunisia in its efforts to counter-terrorism. It also reiterated its firm position that rejects all forms of violence, extremism, and terrorism and called on the international community to assume its responsibilities in confronting terrorist organizations that threaten security and international peace.
