Attack in Northwest Syria Kills Turkish Soldier

The Turkish Ministry of National Defense reported that a soldier injured in an armed attack by terrorists in Northwest Syria had succumbed to his injuries. The Ministry of Defense Press issued a written statement indicating that a soldier injured as a result of an armed attack by terrorists was transferred to the hospital, but died despite all the interventions. Unknown gunmen opened fire on several Turkish soldiers in the perimeter of their military base in “Mutaram” town nearby Ariha city, south of Idlib. The attack left two Turkish soldiers injured, one of them sustained serious injuries. Turkish armored warfare advanced in the site and transferred the wounded soldiers to Turkish territories. Last week, a car bomb explosion and an armed attack on a Turkish post in Sallat Al-Zuhur village along Latakia-Aleppo international highway (M4) was reported. A member of one of the Syrian factions, in charge of guarding the Turkish post, was wounded during the attack. Since Feb., Turkey has been increasing its reinforcements and military posts following the regime forces Russian-backed offensive against a Turkish post on the 27th of the same month, leading to the death of 33 Turkish soldiers according to official figures from Ankara.
