Saudi Arabia confirms 23 coronavirus deaths, 379 new cases

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia recorded 23 new COVID-19-related deaths on Sunday, raising the total to 4,898. This is the second day that the number of cases has fallen below 400 in six months. The Ministry of Health confirmed 379 new confirmed cases reported in the Kingdom in the previous 24 hours, meaning 336,766 people have now contracted the disease.  Of the total number of cases, 9,813 remain active and 938 in critical condition. According to the ministry, the highest number of cases were recorded in Madinah with 82, followed by Hafouf with 31, Yanbu and Makkah recorded 25 each and the capital Riyadh confirmed 24 cases. The ministry also announced that 570 patients had recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries in the Kingdom to 322,055. The coronavirus pandemic has affected more than 35 million people globally and the death toll has exceeded one million.
