RIYADH — Saudi Arabia on Monday registered 348 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, marking the second single-day lowest number since April, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health. On Sunday, 323 new COVID-19 infections were reported. According to the ministry, 25 more died over the past 24 hours from complications caused by COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 339,615 and virus-related fatalities to 5,068. The ministry also reported 509 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 325,839 with the recovery rate rising to 95.94 percent. Of the new cases, Madinah recorded the highest number of cases with 53 infections followed by Makkah with 38 and Hufof with 28. Jeddah continued to report less than 10 cases with only 7 recorded on Monday. On Sunday, the city reported 3 cases, the lowest single-day number, since the outbreak of the pandemic in the Kingdom. Active cases continued to drop with 8,708 reported on Monday, out of which 842 are critical.
