JEDDAH — Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned the terrorist attack that took place in a religious school in the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar, which claimed the lives of a number of innocent civilians, including children, and wounded others. In a statement on Tuesday, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Riyadh’s rejection of these criminal acts, which are incompatible with all religious principles and moral and human values. The ministry offered condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims and to the government and people of Pakistan, wishing the injured a speedy recovery. Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates have also denounced the terrorist attack. Bahrain’s foreign ministry said in a statement that the kingdom extended its deep condolences to the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery to all those injured as a result of this heinous act. The ministry affirmed Bahrain’s solidarity with Pakistan against violence and terrorism, backing its measures taken to protect its security and stability. The ministry renewed Bahrain’s unequivocal rejection of all forms of violence, extremism, and terrorism, calling for international concerted efforts to eliminate terrorism and dry up its sources of funding. Meanwhile, the UAE expressed its strong condemnation of these criminal acts and its permanent rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism aimed at destabilizing security in contravention of religious and humanitarian values and principles. In a statement, the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation extended its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims of this heinous crime. It also wished a quick recovery to all the injured.
