KSrelief organizes awareness campaign on breast cancer in Aden

ADEN — The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) organized on Monday an awareness campaign on breast cancer targeting female students and educational personnel in Aden Governorate, Yemen. A number of doctors and specialists participated in the campaign to raise awareness of the dangers of breast cancer, stress the importance of early screening and encouraging women to do so. The campaign also trained women on self-screening and provided advice and guidance on the disease, its risks and how to prevent it. This step comes within the framework of the objectives that Saudi Arabia adopts, through the Center, to provide the best services and care for Yemeni people in all Yemeni governorates. In another development and in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health and Population of Yemen, Riyadh-based KSrelief on Tuesday launched a six-month project to enhance school health care services and tackle malnutrition cases among students and staff in Aden governorate. The team, which is equipped with high-tech devices and qualified staff, is targeting to benefit nearly 44,000 persons out of 92,000 distributed over 107 schools. In a statement, Jamal Sidqi, undersecretary of Aden Governorate, said the project is laying the foundation for school health care, describing the move as a step in the right direction. For his part, Mohammed Abdulraqeeb Al-Raqeebi, director general of Aden Education Office, said the project aims at creating safe environment to guarantee the continuation of the educational process amid the current breakout of epidemics and diseases, including coronavirus COVID-19. — SPA
