RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman will inaugurate the eighth session of the Shoura Council on Wednesday. In his address to the council, King Salman will unveil major features of the Kingdom’s domestic and foreign policies, as well as its positions on the most important regional and international issues. The Shoura Council president and members, who were appointed earlier through royal decrees, will take the oath before the King in the virtual opening session of the council. In a statement on this occasion, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Sheikh, speaker of the council, expressed his pride as well as that of the council members and the staff members, saying that they are honored to listen to the King’s directives and vision regarding all domestic and foreign issues. “The King’s speech will serve as the roadmap for the council and its members, helping them make rational decisions that contribute to improving the performance of government agencies and institutions,” he said. Al-Sheikh noted that the Monarch’s speech would come at a critical time and is being anticipated by many political and economic circles for several considerations, foremost of which is the great and influential position of King Salman at the regional and international levels, and the Kingdom’s position as a large and pivotal country at the global level, especially after assuming the presidency of the G20 for the year 2020.
