OCA evaluation committee concludes 3-day official visit to KSA

RIYADH — The Evaluation Committee, affiliated to the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) concluded here Tuesday a three-day official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia after having been briefed by Riyadh bidding committee on the details of its plan to host the 21st Asian Games 2030. In a joint press conference to highlight the outcomes of the get-acquainted visit of the evaluation committee of OCA, Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Al-Faisal, chairman of Riyadh bid, said, thanks to the unlimited support Saudi sports receives from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, Saudi Arabia has accumulated 10-year rich experience in successfully hosting international and regional sports events. For his part, Prince Fahd Bin Jalawi, director-general of Riyadh 2030 and vice president of Saudi Arabia Olympic Committee, expressed confidence in the new generation as ready to make the event a success as it constitutes a pillar of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. Highlighting the outcome of the visit, Andrea Kracov, head of the Evaluation Committee, said that after having witnessed the preparedness of Riyadh to play host of Asia’s great Olympic event, we think that the Saudi capital holds a wide chance to win the bid. The integration between the Kingdom’s ambition to host the event and its plans regarding its 2030 vision is amazing, he said, adding that, following the visit, we suggest that, given the organizers enthusiasm and government support, Riyadh is set ready to host Asia and the world’s largest event in terms of the number of participants. The press conference was preceded by a bilateral meeting between the Saudi bidding committee senior officials and the OCA representative, with the virtual attendance of Princess Rima Bint Sultan. Saudi Arabia had officially submitted Riyadh bid on the Oct. 5, 2020 to the OCA. — SPA
