RIYADH: The Saudi Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has launched an initiative to raise awareness about cyberbullying and ways to counter it. The initiative has been launched in partnership with 70 organizations from the public, private and nonprofit sectors. The initiative aims to help parents learn about cyberbullying and create awareness about how children are exposed to it in the digital world. The initiative seeks to change the behavior of bullies, educating children about the forms and causes of cyberbullying. It also seeks to explain the proper way to deal with bullying, whether the child is a bully or being bullied. The program will also highlight the effect of bullying on a child’s mental health.
