Children’s retailer Babyshop has marked the UAE’s 49th National Day by sharing a message of optimism for its next generation DUBAI: The United Arab Emirates has spent much of this year preparing for the 50th anniversary of its founding in 1971, setting a positive tone for residents — and tourists — even in the midst of the pandemic crisis. Children’s retailer Babyshop has marked the UAE’s 49th National Day by sharing a message of optimism for its next generation. The brand stands for “giving children a world they deserve,” and in an environment riddled with anxiety and uncertainty, it wanted to encourage a spirit of hope. The message is relayed through a film titled “Our Heartbeats,” which pays tribute the nation on the day it was born. Narrated through the voice of a UAE man born in 1971, the film features rare ultrasound images of babies in the womb juxtaposed with aerial shots depicting the UAE’s formation and development. The original soundtrack was composed in the UK, merging the sounds of babies’ heartbeats with a softer rendition of the UAE national anthem. Along with the film, Babyshop also launched a host of in-store, on-ground and influencer-driven celebrations. In a final nod of appreciation, the brand has also launched a modified version of its logo in the UAE featuring the colors of the national flag.
