RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University has jumped 59 places as compared to last year to rank 79 globally in the internationally-recognized UI GreenMetric World University Rankings. According to the latest assessment, the Riyadh-based university ranked second locally, 4th in the Middle East, and 79th globally among 912 universities from 94 countries. Participating universities provide numeric data on a number of criteria that give a picture of their commitment to the greening of their campus and putting in place environmentally friendly policies to support sustainability. The UI GreenMetric uses six indicators to rank the universities: setting and infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste, water, transportation, and education. The university’s progress in the current year compared to its 138th rank in 2019 reflects the university’s interest in international environmental standards and its efforts to provide an integrated healthy educational environment. It is noteworthy that Princess Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University also participated in The Times Foundation"s "Impact Ranking" for sustainable development goals, based on its growing interest in achieving sustainability and applying its best practices in all fields, and confirming its contribution to achieving the goals of the Kingdom"s Vision 2030.
