LONDON: People traveling to the UK from Saudi Arabia will no longer have to quarantine on entry, the British government announced on Thursday. After 4 a.m. on Saturday Dec. 12, Saudis flying into Britain will not need to self-isolate once granted entry. Saudi Arabia’s addition to the UK’s exemption list followed “in-depth analysis” of the coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic in the Kingdom, a British government statement said. The Kingdom was added to the UK’s travel corridor list of exempt countries along with Botswana. The UK’s transport minister Grant Shapps tweeted: “BOTSWANA and SAUDI ARABIA have been ADDED to the #TravelCorridor list. “If you arrive from these places after 4am Sat 12 Dec you do NOT need to self-isolate.” BOTSWANA and SAUDI ARABIA have been ADDED to the #TravelCorridor list. If you arrive from these places after 4am Sat 12 Dec you do NOT need to self-isolate. — Rt Hon Grant Shapps MP (@grantshapps) December 10, 2020
