RIYADH — Coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia continued to remain below the 100-mark for the second consecutive day, with just 94 new infections reported on Monday, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health. On Sunday, the Kingdom recorded 82 new COVID-19 cases, the lowest single-day number in nine months following the outbreak of the pandemic in the country. The Health Ministry also reported 10 more deaths over the past 24 hours due to complications caused by the virus. This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 363,155 and deaths to 6,256. The ministry also reported 166 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 354,609, with the recovery rate rising to 97.64 percent. Riyadh region reported the highest number of infections with 34 cases, followed by Makkah region with 28 and the Eastern region with 15 cases. The remaining cases were detected in different other regions of the Kingdom. With the recoveries surpassing new cases regularly, the active cases in the Kingdom have also dropped to 2,290 out of which 347 were critical cases.
