KUWAIT CITY — Kuwait has decided to suspend flights to and from the United Kingdom until further notice over fears of a mutated strain of COVID-19, the country’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation said on Sunday in a statement carried by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA). The move, which will be effective from 4 a.m. on Wednesday (Jan. 6) was taken following recommendations from the Kuwaiti health authorities, the KUNA report said quoting the DGCA spokesman Saad Al-Otaibi. In December, Kuwait suspended all commercial flights and sealed its borders until January and the suspension was lifted on Saturday, amid a slew of coronavirus preventive measures, including conducting PCR tests for all travelers arriving in Kuwait. — SG
