RIYADH — Saudi Arabia recorded on Thursday 108 new cases of coronavirus over the past 24 hours, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health. The ministry announced six more deaths over the past 24 hours due to complications caused by COVID-19, marking the lowest single-day fatalities in more than nine months since the outbreak of the pandemic in the Kingdom. This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 363,485 and the virus-related death toll to 6,278. The ministry also reported 138 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 355,037, with the recovery rate rising to 97.67 percent. Riyadh region reported the highest number of infections with 48 cases, followed by the Makkah region with 24 and the Eastern region with 15 cases. The remaining cases were detected in different other regions of the Kingdom. With the recoveries surpassing new cases regularly, the active cases in Saudi Arabia have also dropped to 2,170 out of which 328 were critical cases.
