Neighbours in an east London street where two men died have told how they were awoken by screams. Police used a Taser as they arrested a 28-year-old woman on suspicion of murder after the killings in Ilford on Sunday morning, the Metropolitan police said. The men, believed to be in their 40s, were found seriously injured at the property in Tavistock Gardens and died at the scene, the force said. Police were called to a reported disturbance shortly before 4.30am. Officers believe they know the victims’ identities and were trying to contact their relatives on Sunday. The woman, who had non life-threatening injuries, was taken to hospital for treatment and is now in police custody. Police set up a wide cordon around the area and several forensic science officers could be seen outside the house. Neighbour Inamul Hussain, 32, said he called the police after hearing a woman screaming. “I saw them Taser her, she had blood on her. I heard police say: ‘Put the knife down.’ She was screaming something about her husband but it was quite broken,” he said. He said he thought the woman was from Poland and that several people lived at the house. Hussain shot video footage of police outside the house, during which officers can be heard shouting “show me your hands now” and “come here now” and “get out, get on the floor now”. Another neighbour told PA Media that he had woken to the sound of a woman screaming. Kuddus Miah said: “She was screaming: ‘Help, help, call the police.’ The police and ambulances were there very quick.” Miah said he thought those involved in the incident were new tenants. “We’ve lived here around 15 years and it’s a very quiet neighbourhood, it’s shocking,” he said. Murder detectives are investigating the incident.
