RIYADH: A housing program in the Kingdom helped 390,819 families last year, exceeding its target by 30 percent. Saudi Housing Minister Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail said on Friday that the Sakani program provided the solutions and options despite the exceptional circumstances the housing sector experienced due to the coronavirus pandemic. Al-Hogail added that 138,317 families had moved into their houses last year, bringing the total number of families supported by the program since its 2017 launch to 1.1 million. “Despite the exceptional circumstances that the housing sector went through in 2020, we made several achievements that produced an unprecedented success story, the fruits of which were serving over 390,000 families.”
