DAMMAM — It has been made mandatory for all Saudis and expatriates working in the government and private sectors in the Eastern Province to activate Tawakkalna application to prove their health status before entering their offices effective from Sunday. This was also made applicable in public utilities and commercial complexes in the region and that was line with a directive from Prince Saud Bin Naif, emir of the Eastern Province. The Emir has instructed to take all necessary precautions to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the region as well as to work seriously to monitor violations of non-compliance of health protocols and take all measures to enhance the level of awareness and protect the society. The Emir’s directive also included strict enforcement of precautionary measures, including the use of the Tawakkalna application, wearing masks, keeping physical distance and other health instructions in government and private sector offices and facilities and places of human gatherings such as housing of workers, in addition to submitting reports at regular intervals about the efforts of authorities to implement these measures. Prince Saud directed the implementation of the same procedures in the premises of the emirate of the Eastern Province in all dealings with the beneficiaries. It has also been instructed to carry out field inspections to monitor non-compliance by the concerned officials of all the relevant authorities. He stressed the importance of educating the community about adhering to these procedures through intensive awareness campaigns carried out by the competent authorities. For his part, Director of Health Affairs in the Eastern Province Dr. Ibrahim Al-Arifi, in line with the direction of the Emir, said that activation of the “Tawakkalna” application is mandatory for all employees and customers entering the Eastern Province Health Affairs Premises and its departments. Eng. Fahd Al-Jubeir, mayor of the Eastern Province, instructed that activating Tawakkalna application is mandatory for all citizens and residents for entering malls, public utilities, and commercial complexes.
