A recent study has proposed the reduction of the average working hours of the private sector at par with the working hours of the public sector as part of making the private sector more attractive to the local and international talent, Okaz/Saudi Gazette has learned from the well-informed sources. The study was carried out in line with a new labor market strategy approved by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development last month. The study was evolved on the basis of extensive preliminary studies and research and field surveys, following a methodology based on evidence-based policies to raise the market efficiency. The ministry revealed that the strategy was developed in a participatory methodology that focused on bringing about radical reforms in both public and private sectors in the labor market. These also include packages of initiatives whose scope was based on increasing the rate of economic participation, raising skills and productivity, improving market efficiency and these are in consistent with the Vision Realization Programs and the goals of Vision 2030. The ministry stated that the strategy vision focused on attracting local and global talent and capabilities to the labor market as well as to provide citizens with productive job opportunities and a decent life, apart from promoting the transition to a diversified and prosperous economy that surpasses all challenges at the present time and in the future.
