DUBAI: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan discussed the recent Houthi attack targeting Abha International Airport in a phone call with US Foreign Secretary Antony Blinken, state news agency SPA reported. Both sides stressed the need to stop these hostile acts and support efforts to reach a political solution to end the crisis in Yemen. The senior US official reiterated America’s standing commitment with Saudi Arabia in fighting aggressive acts and strengthening the Kingdom’s defense capabilities. Prince Faisal bin Farhan and his counterpart further discussed strategic relations and developments in all fields. The Iran-backed Houthis’ drone attack of the airport on Wednesday caused one civilian aircraft to catch fire. No one was reported killed or injured in the attack. The attack received international condemnation, with the US State Department particularly urging the Houthis to halt ‘aggressive acts.’
