RIYADH: A virtual forum to help orphans find jobs will be inaugurated on Sunday by Riyadh Gov. Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdul Aziz, the Saudi Press Agency reported. The governor is chairman of the Charity Committee for Orphans Care, Ensan, and the one-week event will feature training and qualification courses in line with labor market requirements. There will also be counseling and guidance sessions for job seekers. The forum is being held under the slogan “Essami,” which means self-made. Sami Al-Zaidan, who is director in charge of Ensan, said the forum would include the launch of the National Platform for the Qualification and Employment of Orphans, which aims to introduce job opportunities in the private sector. The forum is being held with the participation of various orphan associations throughout the Kingdom and is supported by a number of government and private bodies, including the Human Resources Development Fund and the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises. It will offer the opportunity to seal effective partnerships with training and employment agencies to support orphans. Al-Zaidan said that people could use the platform to submit employment applications along with their CVs. Companies and institutions in the private sector will present job openings and their contact details during the forum. “The forum will also include quality workshops for job seekers in cooperation with entities and experts in the field of training and qualification of human resources in various sectors, and work papers presented by specialists in different sectors,” added Al-Zaidan.
