RIYADH — The Arab Coalition forces on Friday intercepted and destroyed two explosive-laden drones launched by the Iran-backed Houthi militia targeting Saudi Arabia. The second drone attack took place just hours after the first unsuccessfully targeted the Saudi city of Khamis Mushait. In a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency, the official spokesman of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, Brig. Gen. Turki Al-Maliki said: “Joint Coalition Forces have intercepted and destroyed this morning (Friday) a bomb-laden UAV launched systematically and deliberately by the terrorist Houthi militia to target civilians and civilian objects in (Khamis Mushait). "These acts of aggression to deliberately and systematically target civilians and civilian objects by the terrorist, Iran-backed Houthi militia amount to war crimes," Al-Maliki added. The coalition said it would continue to implement all necessary operational procedures to safeguard civilians and civilian objects in accordance with the international humanitarian law.” The Houthi militia has stepped up attacks targeting civilians and civilian facilities in Saudi Arabia recently.
