DUBAI: Streaming giant Netflix has cast Muslim actor Omar Sy to star in a new French action comedy. For the latest updates, follow us on Instagram @arabnews.lifestyle The film, which is set to air in 2022, will be a sequel to the 2012 “On the Other Side of the Tracks.” Netflix is also working with French filmmaker Louis Leterrier, who directed the streaming service’s “Lupin,” for the as yet untitled movie. According to Variety, the production team started shooting on March 15 in Paris. Sy will star alongside French actor Laurent Lafitte in the film penned by Stéphane Kazandjian. Originally from Senegal, Sy is a French actor and comedian best known for his role in the 2011 comedy-drama “The Intouchables,” which earned him the César Award for Best Actor. He also starred in “Lupin,” in which he played Assane Diop, a burglar who seeks to replicate the methods of a man named Lupin, often called the “Gentleman Burglar,” after studying his ability to master disguises and trickery. The five-episode series is set in modern Paris.
