RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman have sent separate cables of condolences and sympathy to UAE President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the death of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Saudi Press Agency reported. In their messages, the King and Crown Prince expressed their profound condolences and sympathy to the UAE president, the family of the deceased, and people of the UAE, appealing to Allah the Almighty to bestow mercy and forgiveness on the soul of the deceased. They also sent cables of condolences to UAE Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, who is also the ruler of Dubai. King Salman later made a phone call to Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum. During the telephone call, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques expressed sincere condolences and sympathy to the Dubai ruler on the death of his brother Sheikh Hamdan, appealing to Allah the Almighty to bestow mercy and forgiveness on the soul of the deceased and inspire patience on his family and relatives. For his part, Sheikh Mohammed expressed deepest thanks to and appreciation of King Salman for his noble feelings, appealing to Allah the Almighty to preserve the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques against any harm. Sheikh Hamdan, the deputy ruler of Dubai and UAE’s finance minister, passed away early Wednesday. His body was laid to rest on Wednesday afternoon at the Umm Hurair cemetery in Dubai after funeral prayers were offered at Zabeel Mosque amid coronavirus precautionary measures.
