Dr. Mohammed Saeed Makni is dean of the College of Economic and Administrative Scienceat Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University (IMSIU) in Riyadh. He worked as vice dean of academic affairs at IMSIU in 2019 and at the College of Business at Al-Baha University between 2016 and 2017. Makni has extensive experience in the private sector. He worked at Savola Group as accounts payables manager between 2001 and 2009. He was also Samba Group’s senior manager in the risk and audit department in 2018 and 2019. Makni, a winner of the Savola Group’s award for outstanding performance in 2006, has been involved in several successful business operations and investments. He believes that human resources are the key to success in any sector, so education must focus on knowledge and skills in order to achieve the vision of Saudi Arabia. Makni obtained a bachelor’s degree in accounting from King Saud University, and completed a master’s degree and Ph.D. in finance from Hull University, UK. He has published several articles in global journals and presented research papers at many conferences. His research focused on capital structure, performance of listed companies and corporate governance. In 2020, he published two papers about debt policy for capital structure in Saudi listed firms, and the oil price and stock market returns uncertainties in Saudi Arabia.
