JEDDAH — The municipality of Jeddah governorate has announced the partial closure of the Corniche Road from March 28 (Sunday) as the city prepares to host Formula 1 races. The municipality explained that the road will be closed in cooperation with the Ministry of Sports and the Traffic Department in Jeddah. The enclosed area will start from the square adjacent to the car cubes monument in the south to Al-Faras Square in the north. It added that the closure will include some subsidiary roads leading to Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Road, pointing out that the closure will continue until work on the site is completed. It is noteworthy that Jeddah will host Formula 1 races on Dec. 3-5, 2021 near the Corniche with the race track stretching over 6,175 meters and having a 10-15-meter width and 27 bends.
