RIYADH — The artistic evaluator of local artists’ construction works, Dr. Iman Al-Jibreen, said that the number of works by local artists participating in the ‘Noor Riyadh’ festival has reached 33, distributed over 13 sites in the city of Riyadh. She added that a method has been adopted to nominate the pioneering and emerging Saudi artists, who are residents of Riyadh, have studied there, or have contributed to its urban growth, with the aim of sensing the details of this city and its culture. She said: "After the nomination, work began with them to develop their ideas in a way that suits the site on which the construction work will be established, so that the work has a story linked to its location.” She added that the stage for selecting artists took two weeks. There were many options, as the Kingdom abounds with talented people, while the stage for selecting and developing suitable works took 10 months, including the creation of works, site survey and technical drawings.
