Michigan players and staffers received quite a scare on their way home from San Antonio after losing to Baylor in the Sweet 16 on Saturday. The team plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Evansville, Ind. after the plane began losing altitude and cabin pressure while flying through a storm. Assistant coach Toyelle Wilson described the situation in a tweet after the landing, noting that the team had to use the oxygen masks that deploy in emergencies. “Just went through the worst flying experience. We are flying back to MI & hit a storm- lost pressurization- the oxygen masks dropped from the compartments. Told bc we dropped at a certain feet & had to use them. We have just emergency landed in Evansville, IN. Please (pray) for us,” Wilson tweeted. Wilson followed with a tweet showing the team safely on the ground giving thumbs up signs on the plane. The school’s Twitter account shared early Sunday that the team had arrived home safely. It was unclear if they used the same plane or found an alternative charter. Michigan’s school newspaper reported that some aboard suffered bloody noses, but were otherwise uninjured. --Field Level Media
