RIYADH: Inspection tours of the Kingdom’s airports began on Sunday, the Saudi Press Agency reported, with the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) following up on the application of precautionary measures designed to curb the spread of coronavirus. GACA’s inspection teams started with King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah, ensuring that operating guidelines were being upheld amid the ongoing pandemic and that the Tawakkalna app was being used for airport workers. It also enhanced the ability of airport workers to evaluate suspected COVID-19 infections and deal with these at terminals, ensure the required conditions, monitor observations and prepare reports related to traveler safety. GACA is keen to develop and improve the aviation industry and provide the best services to people who use the Kingdom’s airports, in line with the highest international standards. It also aims to improve services and facilitate travel procedures, while at the same time ensuring that all safety precautions are being taken to protect public health during the pandemic.
