King Khalid University and FAO discuss research cooperation

ABHA — King Khalid University, represented by Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Center for Environmental and Tourism Research and Studies, has discussed mechanisms for research cooperation with Sustainable Rural Development Program Task Force and Technical Team of Food and Agriculture Organization of United Nations (FAO). Dr. Rahma Al-Shahrani, director of the Center said that the meeting held on Sunday discussed aspects of research cooperation in relation to investment opportunities for available resources in the Asir region in terms of the comparative advantage of natural resources and agricultural potentials. The meeting also discussed the possibility of valuing special aromatic and economic plants in the region, in addition to the possibility of developing agricultural processes to increase the productivity and quality of the plants that have an important economic resource and achieve a range of benefits for the agricultural sector in the region. — SG
