Saudi Arabia’s King Salman appoints new government ministers

JEDDAH: Faisal bin Fadel bin Mohsen Al-Ibrahim was appointed as Saudi Arabia’s new minister of economy and planning in a series of new government appointments issued by King Salman on Monday. Amid the royal decrees, Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud was made a minister after being appointed as special advisor to the King, and made chairman of the board of trustees of the King Salman Foundation. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Swaha was appointed as chairman of the board of directors of the Saudi Space Authority. Iman bint Habas bin Sultan al-Mutairi was appointed as deputy minister of trade, while Badr bin Abdul-Mohsen bin Abdullah bin Hadab was named assistant to the minister of commerce. Khaled bin Abdullah Al-Sabti was made a minister when he was appointed as an advisor in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, and made chair of the board of directors of the Education and Training Evaluation Commission. Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Ali Al-Swaiyyan was appointed as governor of the Digital Government Authority.
