A 21-year-old man has been charged with the murder of PCSO Julia James, whose body was found in Akholt Wood near her home in Snowdown, Kent on 27 April. Callum Wheeler, 21, from Aylesham, has been charged with the murder of Julia James, PCSO, Kent police said on Monday evening. In a statement by Kent police, officers from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate arrested the 21-year-old on Friday, and the Crown Prosecution Service authorised a charge of murder on Monday. Large numbers of police, from several forces, were in Aylesham, Kent on Monday as the investigation into her death continued. Wheeler is now due to appear via video link at Medway magistrates court on Tuesday. James, 53, who was described as “fiercely loyal” by her family and “loved with her whole heart”, died from severe head injuries while out walking her dog. She was not in police uniform. The dog she was walking was found unharmed.
